Leads

DBS Leads are 4 thin, insulated, coiled wires bundled within polyurethane insulation. Each lead has 4 electrodes at the tip. These quadripolar leads deliver stimulation using either one electrode or a combination of electrodes.

There are 3 leads available for the Kinetra DBS system:

  • The Model 3387 DBS lead has 4 electrodes spaced 1.5 mm
    apart
  • The Model 3389 DBS lead has 4 electrodes spaced 0.5 mm
    apart
  • The Model 3391 DBS lead* has 4 electrodes spaced 4 mm

Each model lead is designed specifically for stimulation in the brain and has the following features:

  • Firm tungsten stylet for accurate targeting and placement
  • Soft, blunt tip for passage through tissue
  • Burr hole ring and cap for secure anchoring

Extensions

Stimloc

The Stimloc™ lead anchoring device and burr hole cover offer a complete solution for easy and accurate DBS lead stabilization. Stimloc assures secure lead positioning after implant, while its low profile enhances patient comfort and safety.

Stimloc Accessories

In the unlikely event that any component of the Stimloc is dropped out of the sterile field, the Stimloc accessory kit (Model 3550S-01) offers sterile replacement components. The sterile screwdriver (Model 3550S-02) is also available in an accessory kit as backup when attaching the Nexframe System or Stimloc Device.
